CUCKOO CLOCKS

Hand-carved dancers and a moving waterwheel gives this cuckoo clock a unique charm in the tradition of German cuckoo clocks from the Black Forest Region of Germany. On the hour and at every half hour, the hand-carved and hand-painted cuckoo bird emerges from its nest door and calls out the hour with one distinct cuckoo sound for each hour and one call for every half hour. When the cuckoo bird ends its song, the waterwheel begins to turn. On a platform over the waterwheel, dancers dressed in traditional German folk costumes spin around the dance floor to two different musical folk tunes – Edelwiss or The Happy Wanderer. Hand-painted flowers on the chalet casing complete the beautiful country scenery.

A hand-carved pendulum hangs below the clock continuously swinging back and forth controlling the timing of the clock. This cuckoo clock is powered by a Regula 30 hour all brass clock movement which is made in the Black Forest of Germany. The clock features the traditional brass pinecone weights hanging beneath the clock on brass chains. The clock is wound by raising the weights beneath the clock on its brass chains. One brass pine cone weight powers the cuckoo and cuckoo call time, one pine cone weight powers the music and moving figures while the other pinecone weight powers the time. The clock dial and hands are made of wood with roman numerals marking the time. The musical and cuckoo bird sounds can be turned on and off by a switch located at the base of the clock.

However, as with any hand-carved German cuckoo clock, the exact color and carvings may vary slightly. As with any hand created clock, it is the uniqueness of each piece that makes it a one of a kind heirloom timepiece. This clock is covered by a two year limited warranty covering workmanship and manufacturer's defects.
