CUCKOO CLOCKS

This cottage shaped cuckoo clock has four different animated sequences. A beautiful country scene has been created with hand-carved trees, flowers, logs, and a woodsman at the base of the cottage. The cottage has a balcony with hand-carved hand-painted dancers in traditional German costumes and hiding behind a closed door over the balcony is our cuckoo bird's nesting spot. The first action begins at the top of each hour and on the half hour; the cuckoo bird emerges to call out a cuckoo, one distinct call for every hour and one time for every half hour. As the cuckoo bird ends its song, traditional folk music from the Black Forest begins to play. This clock plays in turn Edelweiss or The Happy Wanderer. With the start of the music, the second action sequence begins as dancers on the balcony of the cottage begin to dance revolving around the platform. With the start of the music, the third sequence of activity also begins as the wood chopper returns to his task of sawing logs. This country scene is completed with the fourth action sequence as the waterwheel begins to turn. Every hour on the hour and at the half hour, this sequence of activity is repeated.

A hand-carved pendulum hangs below the clock continuously swinging back and forth controlling the timing of the clock. This cuckoo clock is powered by a Regula 30 hour all brass clock movement which is made in the Black Forest of Germany. The clock features the traditional brass pinecone weights hanging beneath the clock on brass chains. The clock is wound by raising the weights beneath the clock on its brass chains. One brass pine cone weight powers the cuckoo and cuckoo call time, one pine cone weight powers the music and moving figures while the other pinecone weight powers the time. The clock dial and hands are made of wood with roman numerals marking the time. The musical and cuckoo bird sounds can be turned on and off by a switch located at the base of the clock.


We have used high quality digital photography to show you this model cuckoo clock in as much detail as possible. However, as with any hand-carved German cuckoo clock, the exact color and carvings may vary slightly. As with any hand created clock, it is the uniqueness of each piece that makes it a one of a kind heirloom timepiece. This clock is covered by a two year limited warranty covering workmanship and manufacturer's defects.
