CUCKOO CLOCKS

This one day cuckoo clock shows a Bavarian forest scene of cuckoo birds feeding young birds in the nest. The white clock case highlights the hand-painted accents on the hand-carved maple leaves. A large hand-carved cuckoo bird perches atop the case with four carved maple leaves adorning the sides of the case. Two birds sit on either side of the clock dial facing a nest that sits near the pendulum. On the hour the cuckoo birds move up and down feeding the nesting baby birds. At the same time, the yellow hand-carved hand-painted cuckoo bird pops out of its nest from behind a door. The cuckoo bird sings out the time by making one distinct cuckoo call for each hour of the day as well as once on every half hour. There is a hand-carved and hand-painted maple leaf pendulum that hangs below the clock continuously swinging back and forth controlling the timing of the clock. The cuckoo clock is powered by a Regula 30 hour all brass clock movement which is made in the Black Forest of Germany. The clock features the traditional brass pine cone weights hanging beneath the clock on brass chains. The clock is wound by raising the weights beneath the clock on its brass chains. One brass pine cone weight powers the cuckoo and cuckoo call time while the other pine cone weight powers the time. The clock dial and hands are made of wood with roman numerals marking the time.
