CUCKOO CLOCKS

This one day Chalet Style cuckoo clock shows a Bavarian scene with a woodcutter relaxing outside his chalet enjoying his beer after chopping wood into small logs. The hand-carved trees and logs along with the detailed painting of the chalet completes the scene. At the top of each hour, the woodchopper enjoys a taste of beer as he raises and lowers his mug. While the woodchopper is drinking, the cuckoo bird emerges from its nest behind the closed door. The cuckoo bird sings out the time by making one distinct cuckoo call for each hour of the day as well as once on every half hour. There is a hand-carved maple leaf pendulum that hangs below the clock continuously swinging back and forth controlling the timing of the clock. The cuckoo clock is powered by a Regula 30 hour all brass clock movement which is made in the Black Forest of Germany. The clock features the traditional brass pine cone weights hanging beneath the clock on brass chains. The clock is wound by raising the weights beneath the clock on its brass chains. One brass pine cone weight powers the cuckoo and cuckoo call time while the other pine cone weight powers the time. The clock dial and hands are made of wood with roman numerals marking the time.
