Eight Day Musical Cuckoo Clock with Dancers - Seven Leaves with Three Birds and Bird Nest - 21 Inches Tall The cuckoo birds are the focal point of this eight day musical cuckoo clock with one large cuckoo bird perched at the top of the clock two birds sitting by the dial. Two baby birds peaking out from a nest at the bottom of the clock complete this nature scene. The birds are surrounded by hand-carved renditions of the natural foliage of a Bavarian forest as they perch among the seven hand-carved maple leaves. Hidden amongst the leaves at the top of the case is the hand-carved hand-painted cuckoo bird ready to emerge on every hour and half hour.
At the top of each hour and on the half hour, the cuckoo bird pops out of its hiding spot and calls out the time, one distinct call for each hour of the day and one call for each half hour.
On the top of every after the cuckoo birds completes its song, a German folk tune begins to play alternating between Edelweiss or The Happy Wanderer. As the music plays the dancers revolve around the platform.
A maple leaf pendulum hangs below the clock continuously swinging back and forth controlling the timing of the clock. This cuckoo clock is powered by a Regula 30 hour all brass clock movement which is made in the Black Forest of Germany. The clock features the traditional brass pinecone weights hanging beneath the clock on brass chains. The clock is wound by raising the weights beneath the clock on its brass chains. One brass pine cone weight powers the cuckoo and cuckoo call time, one pine cone weight powers the music and moving figures while the other pinecone weight powers the time. The clock dial and hands are made of wood with roman numerals marking the time. The musical and cuckoo bird sounds can be turned on and off by a switch located at the base of the clock.
