Eight Day Musical Cuckoo Clock with Dancers - Moving Clock Peddler and Waterwheel - 22 Inches Tall This stunning chalet style eight day musical clock features intricate detailed hand-carving that gives this cuckoo clock a unique distinctive charm. A bell towers caps the roof of the chalet. Perched underneath the peak is the cuckoo bird's nest. Dancers are positioned on the balcony waiting for the music so they can begin their dance. Hand-carved trees nestle near a water wheel. Near the waterwheel a clock peddler trudges forward balancing his bundle of clocks.
At the top of each hour and on the half hour, the cuckoo bird pops out of its hiding spot and calls out the time, one distinct call for each hour of the day and one call for each half hour.
On the top of every hour, the action sequence begins. The water wheel starts to spin while the clock peddler moves forward on his journey to sell his clocks. On the top of every hour a German folk tune begins to play alternating between Edelweiss or The Happy Wanderer. As the music plays the dancers revolve around the balcony.
A pendulum hangs below the clock continuously swinging back and forth controlling the timing of the clock. This cuckoo clock is powered by a Regula 30 hour all brass clock movement which is made in the Black Forest of Germany. The clock features the traditional brass pinecone weights hanging beneath the clock on brass chains. The clock is wound by raising the weights beneath the clock on its brass chains. One brass pine cone weight powers the cuckoo and cuckoo call time, one pine cone weight powers the music and moving figures while the other pinecone weight powers the time. The clock dial and hands are made of wood with roman numerals marking the time. The musical and cuckoo bird sounds can be turned on and off by a switch located at the base of the clock.
