Eight Day Chiming Grandfather Cuckoo Clock with Hand-carved Trees and Bear Family This magnificent eight day German grandfather cuckoo clock is sure to become a family heirloom. This hand-carved clock has intricate carvings of hand-carved forests on each side of the case. Boughs on the trees encircled the clock face dial. At the base of the clock, a bear mother looks after her cub. The brass three weights are surrounded by the forest trees. This clock plays music every fifteen minutes. The face of the clock is a wooden dial with roman numerals. Above the clock face, dancers revolve on a balcony while the music plays. An adjustable lever allows a choice of chimes that can be played: Westminster Chime, St. Michael, or Whittington. This clock has a night-shut off switch and silent mode. This clock does not have a moving cuckoo bird or cuckoo sound. It does have a decorative hand-carved bird perched above the dancers. The clock stands 82” tall.
The hand-carved pendulum continuously swings back and forth which controls the timing of the clock. This grandfather cuckoo clock is powered by an eight day Kieninger clock movement. It is wound by raising the three brass weights hanging in front of the pendulum. One weight powers the time and pendulum, one powers the music box, and the other weight powers the dancers.
