CUCKOO CLOCKS

This one day German cuckoo clock has a scene that comes alive at the top of every hour. On the chalet roof is a chimney sweep waiting to do his work. The cuckoo bird is hidden in its nest inside a small door above the dial. Placed on opposite sides of the dial, a hand-carved tree and water pump gives the chalet its rustic look. Hand-painted flowers on the sides of the chalet, the base and the pendulum complete the scene. At the top of every hour the action begins. The chimney sweeps pops in and out of the chimney as the yellow hand-carved cuckoo bird emerges from its nest. As the chimney sweep works, the cuckoo bird sings out the time by making one distinct cuckoo call for each hour of the day as well as once on every half hour. There is a hand-carved hand-painted maple leaf pendulum that hangs below the clock continuously swinging back and forth controlling the timing of the clock. The cuckoo clock is powered by a Regula 30 hour all brass clock movement which is made in the Black Forest of Germany. The clock features the traditional brass pine cone weights hanging beneath the clock on brass chains. The clock is wound by raising the weights beneath the clock on its brass chains. One brass pine cone weight powers the cuckoo and cuckoo call time while the other pine cone weight powers the time. The clock dial and hands are made of wood with roman numerals marking the time.
